Persian Baluchi Carpet - Handmade - 122 x 190cm
Discover the enchanting world of us with the handmade Baluchi carpet from Iran. Crafted by the skilled hands of Baluch nomads in southeastern Iran, this carpet exudes the rich history of nomadic craftsmanship. Spread across southeastern Iran, southern Afghanistan and western Pakistan, these nomads have brought their traditional art into the modern age.
The carpets in our online store come straight from the Iranian pilgrimage site of Mashad, where every knot tells a story. Baluchi carpets, usually slightly smaller in size, are known for their warm color palette of red, brown and deep blue, woven with carefully selected materials such as wool, cotton, goat hair, camel hair and silk.
Characteristic of the Baluchi style are the geometric motifs such as hexagons, squares and triangles that create a unique visual aesthetic. Creating such a masterpiece requires dedication, where four or five craftsmen work up to 6 hours a day, and depending on the size, the process can take up to ten months.
