At Bamboona, we embody functionality, aesthetics, sustainability, and social responsibility. These values define who we are as a bamboo-based company. Located in Cologne, we are a small factory that is fully devoted to working with bamboo.

Preserving resources is a core principle for us. To minimize unnecessary travel and reduce our carbon footprint, we have partnered with local suppliers and craftsmen in Germany to exclusively produce our Modul5 privacy screens. By doing so, we ensure that our products meet the high standards of German craftsmanship while supporting our local community.

Social responsibility is another aspect close to our hearts. As part of our commitment, we collaborate with a certified workshop for the disabled, involving them in the final production and packaging processes. By doing this, we strive to create opportunities for individuals with disabilities and contribute to a more inclusive society.

When it comes to the bamboo we use, we source it from the lush Indonesian island of Java. Following traditional methods, local bamboo farmers carefully harvest the bamboo, drying it along the edges of rice fields. The bamboo then undergoes processing in a small workshop. This traditional approach offers several advantages. The bamboo's structure is subjected to less stress, making it more durable and less prone to cracking. Additionally, it retains its natural shape, maintaining its unique characteristics.

It's important to note that if you notice slight curves in our bamboo sticks, it's because bamboo naturally grows in such a way. These subtle curves are a testament to the authenticity and natural beauty of bamboo.
